Deluxe Blackjack Game Rules

Introduction

Deluxe Blackjack is a classic card game where players play against the facilitator to get a hand as close to 21 points as possible without exceeding it. Enjoy the thrill by sitting down and playing yourself, or play behind other players’ skills and luck!

Gameplay

Setup

Seats

  • The game can accommodate up to seven seats (designated as number 1-7) with players playing against the facilitator in each round.
  • Seats are arranged clockwise by the seat number around the facilitator, starting from the lowest one.

Cards

  • The game uses eight standard 52-card decks (without jokers) in a card shoe.
  • Card values are:
    • Ace = 1 or 11
    • 2 to 10 = face value
    • Jack, Queen and King = 10
  • Suits (diamonds ♦, clubs ♣, hearts , spades ♠) are not considered except for the Pair side option.

Shuffling

  • When the “cut” card is drawn, it signals the final round of the current shoe.
  • After the final round, the decks are reshuffled.
  • Before gameplay resumes, the facilitator draws and reveals the first card from the shoe, and uses its value to burn (discard) the same number of cards from the shoe face down.

Playing a Round

Phase Description
1. Playing
  • A player can occupy up to two open seats to become seated player(s). Each seat must have the same coin value placed (referred to as seat play(s) hereafter).
  • If a seated player places additional seat plays on one occupied seat, the same amount will be mirrored to the other occupied seat if their coin balance allows. If the balance is insufficient, the plays will be evenly split between the occupied seats.
  • Players can play behind any number of seated players, and receive a reward or deduction depending on the seated players’ results.
  • Seated players cannot play behind on themselves.
  • Players can also place pair side options on any number of occupied seats.
2. Initial Dealing
  • The facilitator deals the first card face up to each seated player (starting from the lowest seat number) and finally to themselves.
  • The facilitator then deals the second card face up to each seated player, and one face down for themselves.
  • Now all seated players and the faciliatator receive their initial hands, with the initial score of their hands displayed.
3. DecisionSeated players are prompted one by one to take actions for their hand(s), starting from the lowest seat number, until all seated player’s turns are concluded (see Seated Player’s Action and Play Behind Player’s Action). The players may also choose and/or change their actions before their turn begins.
4. ResultThe facilitator reveals the second card in their hand and distributes additional cards if necessary (see Facilitator’s Action), until the round result can be determined (see Round Result).

Note

  • Trial accounts and accounts using “play-for-fun” currencies are not allowed to occupy seats.
  • A player must place a coin to occupy seat(s). If the seated player has no valid coin placed after the countdown ends (insufficient or unsuccessful action), the seated player will be removed from the seat(s), and any play behind or pair coins on the seat(s) will be returned.
  • If a player has occupied seat(s) for a round but does not place any coin(s) in the next round, the player will be allowed to stay for that round but will be removed from the seat(s) in the subsequent round.
  • A seated player will be removed from the seat if the player does not have coin balance for the minimum seat play(s) at the start of a round.
  • A round concludes immediately with no additional cards distributed if:
    • The facilitator gets a natural Blackjack (hereafter “BJ”) in the initial hand (see Calculating the Score).
    • The facilitator does not have a “BJ” in the initial hand, but all seated players have “BJ”.

Calculating the Score

  • The score of a hand is the sum of its card values. Ace is 1 or 11 depending on the favorable result. Examples:
    • A hand with ♠A (= 11) and 9 has a score of 20.
    • A hand with ♠A (= 1), 9 and ♣5 has a score of 15.
  • A hand is a bust when exceeding 21 points.
  • If the initial hand (the first two cards) includes an Ace and a 10-value card, for example, an Ace and a ♠J, it is referred to as a natural Blackjack (“BJ”), which is the strongest hand in the game.
  • A split hand (see Seated Player’s Action) with an Ace and a 10-value card is counted as non-Blackjack 21 points; in other words, a split hand can never qualify and rewards as a “BJ”.

Seated Player’s Action

A seated player has the following options for their hand(s) during the decision phase:

ActionDescription
Hit
  • Receive 1 extra card from the facilitator to add to the hand.
  • A seated player can hit multiple times until one of the following occurs:
    • The hand reaches 21 points.
    • The seated player chooses to stand.
    • The hand becomes a bust (exceeding 21 points).
    • The seated player surrenders.
Stand
  • Stop receiving cards and performing further actions for the hand.
  • Hand automatically stands after one of the following occurs:
    • The hand reaches 21 points (including “BJ”).
    • Actions for Double Down,Split Aces or a Split followed by a Double Down have been completed.
Surrender
  • Forfeit the hand in this round and lose receive a reduction of half of the coin.
  • Only available for the initial hand prior to any actions taken, and when the
faciliatator’s 1st card is not an Ace or a 10-value card.
Double Down
  • Double the hand coin value, and the hand will receive only 1 extra card after doubling down.
  • The option is available only with sufficient coin balance.
  • Can be used on the initial hand or split hands, except for split Aces.
  • If the coin balance becomes insufficient when the action is executed, the system will hit instead.
Split
  • Split the initial hand into two separate hands if it contains a pair of the same value. The extra hand takes the same amount as the seat play.
  • Each split hand can hit as many times as desired, except for:
    • Split Aces: Each hand receives only 1 extra card.
    • Split followed by Double Down: The hand receives only 1 extra card.
  • The seated player cannot split the split hands again.
  • A split hand with an Ace and a 10-value card counts as 21 points, not a “BJ” (and does not qualify for a “BJ” reward).
  • The option is available only with sufficient coin balance.
  • If the coin balance becomes insufficient when action is executed, the hand will:
    • Hit if the score is 11 or less.
    • Stand if the score is above 11.
Insurance
  • Purchase an insurance (a special option type) worth half of the seat play when the facilitator’s 1st card is an Ace, to lower the risk of losing to the facilitator’s “BJ”.
  • The seated player can purchase insurance despite already having a “BJ” hand.
  • The insurance has a reward of 2:1:
    • The option receives a reward if the facilitator has a “BJ”.
    • The option results in no reward earned if the facilitator does not have a “BJ”, regardless of the round’s final result.
  • The option is available only with sufficient coin balance.

Note

If a disconnection occurs, or no action is received from the seated player during the game, the system will automatically finish the round for the player. If the player’s hand score is less than or equal to 11, the system will automatically hit until the score exceeds 11. Aces will count as 11 unless it would result in the hand going bust. If the player’s score is greater than 11, the system will complete the player’s hand by choosing Stand.

Play Behind Player’s Action

Players who play behind seated players can take the following actions during the decision phase:

Action Description
Insurance
  • The play behind player can purchase insurance independently of the seated player for the same hand.
  • This option works identically to the Insurance option mentioned under the Seated Player’s Action section.
Follow Double Down
  • This option is only available when the seated player has decided to double down on a hand:
    • If no (default) or with insufficient coin balance, the third card will be treated as a hit for the play behind player, and the original coin value remains unchanged.
    • If yes, the play behind player also doubles coin values.
Follow Split
  • This option is only available when the seated player has decided to split the hand:
    • If no (default) or with insufficient coin balance, the play behind player only follows the first split hand of the seated player.
    • If yes, the play behind player follows both split hands and places the same coin value on the extra hand.

Facilitator’s Action

The facilitator takes the following course for the facilitator’s hand:

  • The facilitator always hits when the facilitator’s hand has 16 points or less.
  • The facilitator always stands when the facilitator’s hand reaches 17 points or above, including a soft 17 (an Ace (11) and a 6-value card).

Round Result

Seated players (and play behind players) receive reward or deductions depending on how well their hands play against the facilitator’s:

Result Description
BJThe player’s hand is a “BJ” hence beats all other hands, including non-Blackjack 21 points (“BJ” reward).
If the facilitator’s hand is a “BJ”:
  • Any player without a “BJ” receives a deduction. Players with a “BJ” will result in a Draw.
WinThe player’s hand is not a bust and has a higher score over the facilitator’s, or the facilitator’s hand is a bust (non-”BJ” reward).
DrawThe player receives a deduction when:
  • The player’s hand is a bust.
  • Both the player’s and the facilitator’s hands are not a bust, and the player’s hand has a lower score than the facilitator’s.
DrawBoth the player’s and the facilitator’s hands are not a bust and have the same score. The player’s coin is returned.

Disconnection Policy

If a player is disconnected from a game round, the round will continue until completion. All confirmed plays remain valid and will be settled as the round concludes. The player can review the play details in the “Play Record”.

Error Handling

In the event of an unexpected issue in the game, system or procedure, the game round will be temporarily paused while the facilitator informs the supervisor. If the issue can be resolved quickly, the round will resume and continue as usual. If an immediate resolution is not possible, the round will be cancelled, and all plays will be returned.
